Our lead instructor, David Arendt is a 2nd black belt and national level Taekwondo competitor. He has coached national tournaments as well as Junior Olympians. He founded Action Martial Arts of Bellevue, WA in 2007 and has served as lead instructor since.
Our martial arts classes are offered both online (via Zoom) and in-studio at the Bellevue Northwest Arts Center. Our studio offers plenty of space for free movement, wood floors, high ceilings, and large mirrors.
Martial arts is not just about kicks and punches. It's about developing physical strength, stamina, self-discipline, and self-confidence - skills which transfer to all areas of life. At Action Martial Arts in Bellevue our classes always begin with a discussion of the monthly theme (gratitude, legacy, and kindness, for example) and its application to martial arts and everyday life. We then work through a series of warm ups to engage the mind and body and reduce injury. Much of the class is dedicated to Taekwondo forms, technique work, and self defense moves. Through positive feedback, personal accountability, and hard work, our program creates capable martial artists and confident students.
